FLAVA Mentor Program – Survey 2024

Hello FLAVA members!

My name is Shane Goodpasture and I started this year as FLAVA´s Mentor Program Chair! I teach Spanish and serve as my school´s world language department chair in Smyth County in Southwest Virginia! I’m excited about this adventure working with FLAVA and members across the state!

My goal as Mentor Program Chair is to create a virtual and digital space that can benefit ALL world language teachers, but especially those new to the profession. I believe we all have something to contribute to others regardless of years of experience, location, confidence levels, etc. I would like to provide opportunities to provide encouragement, network, and make teaching a little easier during the rough patches.
