Interdisciplinary Learning with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
With presenter, Rachel Thompson (2020 FLAVA Teacher of the Year)
Come learn about how to utilize the UN Sustainable Development Goals as an interdisciplinary framework to promote deeper learning in the WL classroom. This interactive presentation will explore ways teachers can utilize the UN’s SDGs in the language classroom or in an interdisciplinary collaboration with Government teachers to promote the skills necessary for success in the modern world (the 5 C’s): communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and citizenship, as well as promoting cultural competency. Bonus: leave this workshop with a ready-to-use thematic unit!
