Join us to stand up for WL legislation!

The Virginia General Assembly meets in January and February. When in session, we need people to come to the meetings and speak about WL legislation. If you can go to the GA to speak, please contact Sharon Scinicariello at sscinicariello@gmail.com. (If you do plan to come, feel free to bring refreshments and work/reading material in case there is a wait.)

At the current time, both the Pocahontas Building and the State Capitol are closed for security reasons. It is likely that all our advocacy must be virtual. It is not yet clear if there will be virtual public meetings of the subcommittees and committees; Sharon will send out information as she gets it. If you are on Twitter, please follow the Twitter feed devoted to advocacy, @SGS_RVA; Sharon will also post information there and on Facebook. Sharon will also send more about virtual advocacy very soon.

The Senate subcommittee meets “30 minutes after adjournment” in Subcommittee Room 2 on the fifth floor of the Pocahontas Building.

The House subcommittee meets at 7 a.m.; the committee meets at 9 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Wednesday in the House Committee Room of the Pocahontas Building.

The Senate session begins at noon and can be adjourned at any time so the committee could start any time after 12:30.

It may seem intimidating but you can do this! Check out the GA page for information on public entrances, security procedures, cafe location, and more. There is street parking and there are many garages in the area.
