Nominate a Future WL Teacher

Nominate a Future WL Teacher

In 2019, FLAVA launched the Future World Language Educators of Virginia Award Program. In an effort to encourage students to follow in our footsteps and become World Language teachers, we would like to recognize and award those high school students who are passionate about language learning and are looking forward to sharing their passion as future educators in the language field. We are currently taking nominations for the 2020-2021 school year!

Please see the flyer and brief nomination form for all of the details of the program. Note that nominations are due by February 29 so start thinking of nominees from your classrooms who can fill these spots! Students may even fill out the form themselves. We need World Language educators and hope this program will encourage language students to move into this profession.

Both recipients of this year’s award and the recipients from the 2019 year will be invited to attend our virtual Spring Mini-Conference in March, including attending sessions, at no cost! Students will be recognized at the conference during a short ceremony and will receive a certificate in the mail.

Have a fabulous week and thank you for the awesome job that you do teaching our students a love of other languages and cultures!

Sincerely,

Ginny Ogden
