Greetings, FLAVA Members!
Welcome Back! I hope the start of the school year has been smooth and filled with joy and excitement for you and your students!
It is almost time for FLAVA 2023 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott and I couldn’t be more excited!!! FLAVA 2023 will feature almost 200 sessions, an exhibit hall, and many social opportunities to reconnect and collaborate with each other. Our keynote speaker, Ben Tinsley, is an absolutely incredible and inspiring educator and leader. I know that Ben will bring us many ways that we can both adapt and empower our teaching practices to meet the needs of today’s learners. Be sure to register by the early bird deadline of September 15th. After September 15th, the registration rates will increase and Friday breakfast and Saturday lunch will no longer be included.
A huge thank you to Sue Robertson and the members of the Constitution/Bylaws Revision Committee for all their hard work. The Constitution/Bylaws Revision Committee proposes the following amendments for a formal vote at the FLAVA business meeting on Thursday, October 12th. To see the present governing documents, click here. Please note: strike throughs would be eliminated and the blue wording would be added. The red is the rationale for the suggested changes.
