Meeting the Challenges of Instruction, Practice, and Feedback in World Language Teaching Online
See the recorded webinar here.
Recent world events have called us to make significant changes in our work lives and instructional practices from in-person and real-life activities to digital means of conveyance and execution. Since we as world language teachers are having to re-purpose our skills in order to deliver our classes remotely, there are challenges that we have encountered. These challenges are only intensified because of goals, standards, and performance ratings that have to be met in our teaching and in our students’ learning. Three of these challenges are delivery of information, providing ample opportunity for practice, and instituting workable forms of feedback to ensure that the joy of learning doesn’t become waylaid in cyberspace.
Join us in “Meeting the Challenges” and learn from three world language experts who, over the years, have experienced and grown from meeting such challenges successfully in the classroom and online. Let’s work together to jump-start effective, agile new ways to teach and address students’ learning needs as we advance in this century.
Featured presenters include:
- Allison Carneiro da Silva, World Languages Department Leader, French and Spanish Teacher – Hanover County Public Schools.
- Rhode N’komba, World Languages Department Chair from Falls Church High School – Fairfax County Public Schools.
- Rebecca Fox, PhD, Professor of Education, College of Education and Human Development – George Mason University.
