Newport News Public Schools is seeking a long-term substitute French teacher to join our World Languages department from February 23 through approximately May 23.

This position is ideal for teachers at any stage of their career, including early-career educators, experienced teachers, and retired teachers interested in a short-term assignment.

Position Details

• Courses taught:

  • 2 sections of French 2

  • 2 sections of Honors French 3

• Schedule:

  • Block scheduling: one French 2 and one Honors French 3 class taught each day

  • Each class meets every other day

• Teaching hours: 8:15 a.m. – 11:35 a.m. daily

• School hours: 7:10 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.

  • As this is a long-term substitute position, arrival and departure times are flexible
