UVA Free PD for French Teachers: “Freedom and Unfreedom”
University of Virginia’s Department of French and the Center for the Liberal Arts will offer this free program on Saturday, September 27th, 2025 (10AM – 4PM) at the UVA Shannon Library Rm 330 (160 McCormick Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22904). This program will be conducted primarily in French for secondary French teachers and will provide information and methods for broadening the geographic scope of French courses. With a focus on Reunion Island, Senegal, and Haiti, we plan to visit two new exhibitions at the University of Virginia and foster conversations around art, history, and culture in the global Francophone world. Each teacher who attends the program will receive a $100 stipend and a Professional Development certificate of completion issued by the UVA Center for the Liberal Arts. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Please visit the CLA website for more details and online registration.
